چکیده

The Editors of Circulation are pleased to announce that our effort to provide even more rapid access to all original scientific articles that have been accepted for publication in Circulation began with our first issue of the new year. All original clinical and basic manuscripts, once accepted, will now be published Online five to nine working days after galley proofs are returned from the author to Lippincott Williams & Wilkins. Rapid Access Publication will enable individual and institutional subscribers to log on to the Circulation web site, www.circ.ahajournals.org, and access the pdf file of a group of manuscripts that was accepted just days earlier. These same manuscripts will be published in the print journal within 4 to 5 weeks. Editorials and review articles are not included in Rapid Access Publication. This new opportunity for rapid publication of accepted manuscripts allows Circulation to make important information available to its readers in an even more timely fashion.

Total cavo-pulmonary connection without foreign material for asplenic heart associated with partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection.

The presented case was a 3-year-old boy diagnosed with asplenia (SLL), double outlet right ventricle, pulmonary stenosis, atrioventricular septal defect, hypoplastic left ventricle and partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection to the superior vena cava. Partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection was repaired by translocation of pulmonary artery to avoid pulmonary venous obstruction when ...

Flow on the symmetry plane of a total cavo-pulmonary connection.

The flow inside a total cavo-pulmonary connection, a bypass operation of the right heart adopted in the presence of congenital malformation, is here studied for a specific geometry which has been recently introduced in clinics. The analysis has been performed by preliminary experimental observation and a novel Navier-Stokes formulation on the symmetry plane. This method, once some basic hypothe...

Improvement of computational fluid dynamics simulations of flow in patients with total cavo pulmonary connection and predicting interventional outcomes

Background Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) can be utilized to evaluate hemodynamic characteristics in patients with surgically implemented Total Cavo Pulmonary Connection (TCPC). The simulation process is however often complex and rarely takes into account characteristics such as pulmonary resistance and Aorto-Pulmonary Collaterals in analyses to predict outcome of interventions. The aim of ...

Midterm results after surgical correction of total anomalous pulmonary venous connection

Abstract   Objective: To evaluate the surgical treatment of total anomalous pulmonary venous   connection (TAPVC) and determination of predictors for postoperative death.   Methods: Between 1995 and 2005, 80 patients aged from 1 month to 12 years underwent surgical repair for supracardiac (39), cardiac (34), infracardiac (3) or mixed (4) type of TAPVC. Systemic pulmonary hypertension (PH) in ...

"Flying through" and "flying around" a PET/CT scan: Pilot study and development of 3D integrated 18F-FDG PET/CT for virtual bronchoscopy and colonoscopy.

UNLABELLED The objective of this pilot project was to devise a new image acquisition and processing technique to produce PET/CT images rendered in 3-dimensional (3D) volume that can then be reviewed in several 3D formats such as virtual bronchoscopy and colonoscopy "fly-throughs" and external "fly-arounds." METHODS We tested the new imaging and processing protocol on 24 patients with various ...
